Join us for an extraordinary evening of celebration and inspiration at Guglielmo Winery on September 9, 2023, as Leadership Morgan Hill (LMH) proudly presents the 2023 Leadership Excellence Award to the dedicated community volunteer, Mario Banuelos. This outdoor event, set against the picturesque backdrop of Guglielmo Winery, will honor Mario’s exceptional vision and leadership, qualities that embody the spirit of community and philanthropy. As a symbol of courage and insight, Mario’s journey inspires others to lead with the same passion and commitment.
Steve Tate, LMH Board President, expresses the Board’s enthusiasm for Mario’s selection, highlighting his extensive community support that perfectly aligns with the values of our organization. Hailing from Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico, Mario’s path led him to Stockton, CA, and eventually to the vibrant community of Morgan Hill. His journey, from his early academic achievements to his dedicated career in transportation planning, demonstrates his unwavering dedication to making a difference.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mario’s journey is one of family, growth, and giving back. A loving husband to Fawn Myers and a proud father to four children, his impact extends to the community through his volunteer work. From supporting the Hispanic Association of City Employees to aiding the Dayworker Center and founding the Morgan Hill Community Foundation, Mario’s contributions touch many lives under the radar.
Mario’s humility and commitment mirror the American dream he personifies. His quiet determination to pave the way for others, “one brick at a time,” reflects the legacy of his late father. As a cherished member of our community, Mario’s recognition as an unsung hero is long overdue. Friend and Honorary Committee Chair, Peter Anderson, describes Mario as an engaged and dedicated force that quietly shapes our community’s future.
We invite you to join us in this tribute to Mario Banuelos at Guglielmo Winery. This gathering will not only honor Mario’s journey but will also contribute to the local nonprofit LMH educational organization. The gala dinner, award ceremony, and delightful music and dancing will create an unforgettable experience. The dress code is upscale casual, capturing the essence of late summer fun.
Mark your calendars for September 9, 2023, and stay tuned for more information this spring. The Honorary Committee, led by Peter Anderson, along with LMH Board members Cinda Meister and Darcy Foster, ensures a memorable event. With awardees selected by esteemed community leaders, the event’s proceeds will support the 27-year legacy of LMH in fostering community leadership.
